250th Anniversary

Zion’s “Town Bell” Rings in the Year 2012
Zion’s church bell, also known as Allentown’s Liberty Bell rang in the new year at the outdoor New Year’s eve celebration at PPL Plaza, 9th & Hamilton Streets, in downtown Allentown. The bell was featured on stage, pictured at right on the red, white and blue bunting, during the four-hour celebration. Then at midnight, Allentown’s Liberty Bell led the ringing of bells downtown and throughout the city.

The bell-ringing marks the beginning of the 250th anniversary celebration for both the church and the City of Allentown.

We hope you’ll plan to celebrate with us at our Colonial Ball on September 22, 2012. You’ll meet men and women of the 6th PA Regiment, re-enactors dressed in their colonial era “finery.” Listen and dance to music from the colonial era (as well as more recent centuries!). To be included in our mailing list for this event, please complete the contact form at right.

You also can help us create this once-in-250-year event. Make a note of your interest in the Message section of the form at right, and join us as we make preparations for a most memorable jollification!
